Description

Life Given – Bible Series

The book of Genesis starts with, “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. (Genesis 1:1-3)

The most important aspect of this verse is not the process of creation, but the origin of creation. The world is not a product of blind chance and probability, God created all that we see and experience.

“Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom.” (Isaiah 40:28)

By the seventh day God had finished His work of creation and declared all that He had made to be very good. God chose to create the universe, the world, and people as an expression of his love for us. God’s deepest desire is to relate and fellowship with the people he created. God took the ultimate step toward fellowship with us through his historic visit to this planet in the person of His Son, Jesus Christ.

“His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.” (2 Peter 1:3)

We can know this God who created the universe in a very personal way the moment we put our trust in Christ. At that moment, we pass from death to life and into eternal life. Here we begin the most exciting and fulfilling journey imaginable.
